The Society of the Holy Name of God and Jesus, was founded by a Dominican priest, Didacus of Victoria. On April 13, 1564, Pope Pius IV gave his approval to the Society and wrote a letter recommending the Society to the laity.
On May18, 1931, the Holy Name Society was inaugurated in St. Adalbert's parish, with Father John Kaplinski as it's moderator. Over the years our ministry has become a vital part of the life of St. Adalbert's family.
To become a member of this society, you must be an adult male, at least 18 years of age. By your enrollment you are publicly announcing your devotion and defense of the Holy Name of God and Jesus. “Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in Heaven and on earth and under the earth” (Philippians 2.9-10)
